Our client, a leading professional membership body which produces industry-leading publications and courses, is looking for a Print Book Sales Executive to grow sales of print book products globally through direct and channel sales.

Reporting to the Publishing Sales Manager, the main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Direct sales whilst managing agents and sales channels to maximise output and revenue
  • Maintaining and developing good relationships with key customers
  • Attending relevant book and sales conferences to meet existing and prospective customers
  • Formulating, negotiating and successfully agreeing sales proposals
  • Work with the Publishing Sales Manager to formulate sales development strategies
  • Producing regular reports on sales activity and development opportunities
  • Undertaking research analyses of sales channels to improve market knowledge
  • Monitoring financial performance, reporting/advising on forecasts for year-end & future years
  • Working closely with marketing on promotional strategies
  • Contributing to the overall commissioning strategy.

Successful candidates will have a proven track record in academic book sales, ideally STEM book sales channels and markets, and an understanding of print publishing processes and the publishing industry. Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to develop effective relationships and analyse and communicate sales data. Proficiency with CRM Databases, MS Office is required, and being results orientated and well organised is essential. The role requires UK and occasional international travel.
