Our client, a leading and growing not-for-profit STM Open Access journal publisher, is expanding and requires a Community Outreach Coordinator to craft communications and plan conference presence to engage different subject communities.

The Community Outreach Coordinator will work collaboratively across the Outreach team and cross-functionally within the organisation, under the direction of the Senior Manager, Community Outreach. The main responsibilities include:

  • Managing the logistical arrangements for in-person conferences
  • Working with Outreach and Editorial teams to ensure organisational objectives are met
  • Managing logistical details to ensure event success (set-up, food, technology, shipping etc)
  • Handling all conference-related communications within the organisation
  • Managing the stand at selected conferences
  • Supporting conferences to create/deploy outreach materials to create conference presence
  • Creation of broader outreach materials for the Senior Manager and/or Editorial departments
  • Coordinating sponsorship programs, ensuring deadline delivery and payment processing
  • Monitoring and analysing conference success and associated marketing activity. 

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a communications or marketing role and a keen interest in scientific, Open Access, STM, or academic publishing. A passion for customer-and community-centric outreach is essential, as is the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to craft compelling content across print, email, and online channels and exceptional organisational, presentation, and communication skills are required.
