Our client, a leading global academic and professional content provider, is looking to recruit a Director of Library Sales, Research, for the APAC region.

Reporting to the VP Global Library Sales, the Director of Library Sales will lead the development and implementation of annual APAC sales plans for the Library sales team to deliver overall annual revenue targets, as well as identifying and realising new business opportunities. The main responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new global and local strategic opportunities
  • Management of direct reports in order to maintain/exceed sales plan
  • Effectively create reliable forecasting processes and renewal/opportunity pipeline
  • Ownership of best practice in the consistent use of Strategic Selling
  • Providing input and taking direction during the planning process
  • Manage the governance of sales activities into the Library sector
  • Encouraging innovation and creativity across all sales groups
  • Establish/enforcing collaborative working relationships with Marketing/Regional Sales Managers
  • Participation in the execution of key library customer negotiations
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of the Library sector
  • Actively cultivating relationships with key consortia, university and library leaders
  • Overseeing governance of sales activities with emphasis upon clear rule of engagement
  • Implementing an effective proposals process that provides due diligence.

The ideal candidate will have proven senior sales experience within APAC and a deep understanding of the academic library segment. You will have strong leadership and team-building skills and have the ability to inspire teams. An appropriate level of financial acumen is essential and you will be a creative thinker, have an excellent attention to detail and superb organisational skills. The role requires regular travel.
