An academic publisher with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years is looking to recruit a Faculty Liaison Executive – Library Sales, to manage sales of the publisher’s new Business products.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Achieving visits and revenue targets for business products
  • Engaging with academics to support product sales driven by faculty recommendations
  • Acting as facilitator to identify individual department and faculty leads for business products
  • Maintaining communication links between key stakeholders, updating CRM and feedback
  • Liaising with Library Field Sales Managers about additional leads for non-core products
  • Attending library conferences as necessary, including product presentations and customer meetings
  • Reporting sales against targets and providing monthly market feedback
  • Liaising with Library marketing managers on territory activities
  • Significant travel in territory and 50% of time spent conducting face-to-face calls.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in sales, ideally in a publishing environment, and have a general understanding of the Library markets and publishing. An advanced proficiency in excel and salesforce.com (or similar CRM system) is desirable. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills are essential, and you must be well organised and have a high-level of initiative. Knowledge of consultative, needs-based selling would be an advantage.
