An academic publisher with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years is looking to recruit a Library Sales Manager – Technology Solutions, to meet or exceed sales objectives by promoting and selling library services and discovery technology products through professional sales techniques and long-term customer relationships.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Negotiating the sale of products and services to assigned library accounts in North America
  • Serving as primary contact for all library services and discovery related sales communication
  • Visiting library customers and new customers with the aim to identify business opportunities
  • Leading coordination of all sales focused activity (Marketing, Account Support, Sales)
  • Gaining and maintaining product and market knowledge for assigned product lines
  • Communicating market feedback and product information with key stakeholders
  • Completing sales call planning to improve understanding of customer accounts
  • Tracking opportunities in SalesForce.com system to prioritize sales activity and campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have proven sales experience in library sales and have demonstrated success in an academic and professional background. Experience of sales within the publishing industry or within academia is preferred. You will have excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills and be adept at working independently and both lead and work as part of a team. You will have a strong work ethic, great initiative, and be willing to work hours based on the needs of the assigned territory. Familiarity working with database systems is required.
