A leading global scholarly publisher is looking for a Regional Manager, Australasia, to develop, establish, drive and implement a regional strategy for continued growth, with full accountability for achieving and exceeding sales targets and managing costs.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Global Sales, the main responsibilities include:

  • Developing an annual regional strategy and implementation for Board approval
  • Determining activities and resources necessary to implement the plan
  • Communicating and providing feedback to key stakeholders to support ongoing development
  • Achieving targets through pipeline development of sales and upsell opportunities
  • Managing, coaching and leading the sales team to succeed
  • Negotiating with new business models and creating solutions to customer problems
  • Managing budgets, costs, and expenses to ensure delivery of ROI
  • Leading the overall relationship and new business pipeline with customers/key stakeholders
  • Coordinating activities of matrix managed staff.

The successful candidate will have solid sales experience in a consultative-selling environment and have advanced negotiation and closing skills. You will have detailed knowledge of the region, and understand product and wider industry knowledge and trends. You will have excellent presentation, communication, influencing and relationship-building skills and some line-management experience. You will work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders and be able to think creatively to drive revenues and solver customer problems.
