Our client, a world-leading research, executive education, and postgraduate programme business school, is looking for a Senior Online Learning Designer to lead on the implementation of learning design and overall experience of online programmes and modules.

Reporting to the Manager of Online Learning Design, the Senior Online Learning Designer will be involved in and often lead on all stages of the development lifecycle from design through to evaluation of online or blended programmes. The main responsibilities include:

  • Leading the online development of a suite of programmes
  • Developing a strategy for development and delivery in line with the department’s mission
  • Scoping new online projects, identifying objectives, defining learning objectives/outcomes
  • Coordinating the planning, design, and development of high-quality online programmes
  • Briefing/supporting academic staff and teaching assistants on the delivery of online modules
  • Overseeing guidance and training are given to academic staff on the use of learning platforms
  • Directing, overseeing and coordinating the review/evaluation of online materials
  • Reviewing module content post-delivery to ensure consistency with learning design
  • Maintaining project documentation and module structures/folders.

The successful candidate will have significant experience either in teaching (ideally online) or the ability to provide learning/instructional design consulting services to internal and external subject matter experts and prospective clients to design effective learning programmes. You might already work for an academic institution in learning design or for a higher education publisher working closely with academics, storyboarding and commissioning of content for online learning. You will have leadership qualities, excellent organisational, communication, negotiating and problem-solving skills and be willing to bring energy, innovation and a flexible approach.
