An academic publisher with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years is looking to recruit an Academic Partnerships Consultant. Reporting to the Senior Academic Partnerships Manager the focus of the role is to promote and sell online courses to Higher Education institutions across the UK and Europe.

Academic Partnerships Consultant: Key responsibilities

  • Conducting customer research, lead generation and qualification, as well as management of existing and new accounts
  • Responsible for organising and maintaining pipeline and customer data records in the CRM system, to progress opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders across the sector, and win business
  • Ensure renewal of current subscriptions, upsell existing products, and identify new opportunities to meet and exceed agreed revenue targets
  • Identify and validate new customers across the UK and Europe in order to generate new sales opportunities
  • Develop and implement a pre- and post-contract strategy across territories to maximise interest in online courses and recruit universities to participate in a collaborative course development model
  • Build and nurture relationships with senior academic staff as well as senior-level administration staff responsible for departmental or institution wide purchasing decisions
  • Research and explore potential for new business opportunities to identify areas of focus for promotion activity.

Academic Partnerships Consultant Skills/experience

  • Business development and/or account management experience, preferably in the higher education sector
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including delivering effective presentations virtually and in person
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
  • Experience with web-based sales tools, sales databases, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent numerical and data management skills
  • Self-motivation and proactivity, with a positive can-do attitude and an effective team player
  • Experience in working with customers to assist with the delivery of technology products and offering support where required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation skills.
