Our client, a leading independent academic and professional publisher is looking for two Associate Managing Editors to join their journals editorial division, taking a key role in the development of their open access scientific journals.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation that has global reach in one of the most dynamic parts of the business, Editorial. Reporting into the Director, Research you will be responsible for building excellent working relationships with authors and editors to deliver commercially strong performing journals. Key responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that journals publish high quality content consistently
- Ensuring that all published content meets the required ethical and scientific standards
- Maintaining strong subject knowledge within allocated journal fields, including via national and international conference attendance when required
- Guiding the editorial strategy of the allocated journals to ensure year-on-year journal growth
- Developing the quality, profile, market share, budget and financial performance of journals within the assigned portfolios
- Building and maintaining positive relationships internally and with external partners, including journal editors and boards
- Assisting members of the Managing Editor team as required.
Suitable candidates for this role will have good commercial awareness and previous journals publishing experience in an editorial capacity, Open Access experience is preferred. Effective relationship management skills will be essential to perform successfully in the role. With a biomedical, engineering or physical sciences background to at least BSc level. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team within scientific open access journals publishing.
