Associate Systems Analyst – Publishing Technology

An academic publisher with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years is looking to recruit an Associate Systems Analyst. This brand-new role will be responsible for configuring and supporting the content management systems to sustain the online publishing environment and will participate in all aspects of the software life cycle.

This exciting opportunity will be essential in developing, maintaining, and enhancing existing products and applications, troubleshoot and act as a main source of support for online product development. The key responsibilities of the role include;

  • Supporting relational and XML-based content and digital asset management systems
  • Meeting with stakeholders and end users to identify requirements and enhancement requests
  • Writing technical specifications and documentation
  • Liaising with internal and external resources ensuring good communication at all stages
  • Writing .NET, PowerShell and JAVA code to implement system enhancements
  • Testing and deploying configurations, scripts and code
  • Providing support for production systems, including troubleshooting and analysis, communication with external vendors, and testing
  • Collaborating effectively with analyst team members to deliver optimal business value.

The successful candidate will be a technology generalist, comfortable applying application and operating system patches, writing code to enable solutions or automate tasks, and working with business partners to propose, craft, and implement solutions to their problems. You will be passionate about technology-driven solution delivery and demonstrate excellent experience managing DAM systems, video asset workflows, administering databases on Windows and Linux server environments as well as working with SQL Server, PowerShell, XML, Java, XQuery, and XSLT. Ultimately you will be a strong communicator and problem solver, results focused with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
