EMEA & South Asia Sales Manager – STM Publishing

Our client, a highly respected longstanding professional membership body is looking for a Sales Manager to drive revenues from multiple customer channels across Europe, Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

Responsible for selling online and print products both direct and via sales agents and increasing the customer base across the product portfolio to achieve sales targets across assigned markets. With a particular focus upon developing relationships and revenues from regional library consortia, library end users and corporates.

Key responsibilities

  • Close direct and indirect sales for online and print products to institutions and consortia, librarians and academics, resellers, and distributors
  • Proactively manage the renewals process, to maximise retention and upsell of online subscription products
  • Manage consortia and third-party agent relationships
  • Liaise with Marketing to develop and implement appropriate marketing campaigns for online and print products
  • Attend key events, including bookfairs and library conferences
  • Work with the Publishing Sales Manager to develop new business strategies
  • Share market intelligence gained with colleagues in the Sales, Marketing, and Product Management teams
  • Maintain customer, prospect, sales agent, and consortia records promptly and accurately in CRM database
  • Analyse relevant data sources to help inform prospecting and upselling strategies
  • Monitor financial performance of the territory monthly.

Suitable candidates will have demonstrable previous EMEA sales experience ideally within an STM or professional content environment, with an understanding of consortia structures and content acquisition models. To thrive in this role you will need to have excellent negotiation and communication skills and exceptional relationship management capability. It is essential you are culturally aware with regards to the territories you will be responsible for. It would be preferable if candidates are highly proficient with MS Office including Excel and MS Teams and have a good knowledge of CRM databases including SalesForce. Results focused and highly enthusiastic individuals will do well in this role.
