HE Sales Representative – Books (Northern England)

Our client, an academic publisher with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years, is looking to recruit a HE Books Sales Representative for Northern England to promote their suite of print and digital products and to develop and nurture new prospects.

With responsibility for maintaining and growing revenues through a number of different sales channels, including campus bookshops, online retailers and students, the main responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maximising sales across the print and digital portfolio
  • Achieving and exceeding targets for the territory, whilst supporting existing adoptions
  • Developing outstanding product knowledge across the full product range
  • Completing the annual business plan ensuring clear objectives are set/met for each account
  • Maintaining CRM and ensuring all activities are updated and processed on time
  • Providing regular feedback to Sales, Editorial and Marketing departments on customers and market conditions
  • Attending all training meetings and editorial and marketing meetings as required
  • Working with marketing to ensure all leads/information about the market is communicated.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in sales within an academic publishing environment, and consultative, needs-based selling experience. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiating skills are essential, as is the confidence to plan and execute solid sales growth strategies. A high-level proficiency of CRM and database management is desirable, as is an understanding of the Higher Education markets.
