Higher Education Partnership Consultant opportunity to work closely with the UK and European Sales teams at a ground-breaking publisher of academic textbooks and digital learning resources across the STEM, Social Science and Humanities disciplines. The purpose of this strategic role is to hit annual growth targets across defined territories through retention and expanding existing business, with a particular focus on institutional and digital sales.

Higher Education Partnership Consultant: Key responsibilities

  • Reach and exceed annual sales growth targets.
  • Strategically manage allocated university accounts in order to protect and grow existing business and develop new business opportunities, specifically digital and institutional ones
  • Regularly visit key universities across the territory to meet with customers, uncover leads and understand the broader situation and strategy at each account
  • Build relationships with senior decision makers and budget holders at key accounts and use consultative selling techniques to identify and meet key needs
  • Develop excellent knowledge of all our digital products and key titles and be able to discuss, demo and present these products effectively
  • Develop and implement an annual territory sales plan which reflects both current developments in the UK HE Sector and wider company business objectives
  • Contribute to the development of overall UK growth strategy and actively support the HE Partnership Manager (UK) and Head of Sales: UK & Europe to deliver and embed this strategy.

Higher Education Partnership Consultant: Skills/experience

  • Have a passion for education and desire to help transform learning through exceptional online education and an interest in the use of technology in education
  • Proven successful sales/business development/customer success experience in a relevant market.

Desirable requirements

  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Confidence in dealing with senior academics and university staff
  • Experience of selling by phone, email, conferencing tools and face to face
  • Current valid full UK driving license
  • Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to explain online content and the benefit it has to learning outcomes.
