Featured Marketing Manager – Academic Publishing

Our client, a ground-breaking publisher of academic textbooks and digital learning resources across the STEM, Social Science and Humanities disciplines is looking for a Marketing Manager to join it’s fast-paced team. Responsible for driving the overall marketing strategy and full implementation in order to reach and exceed growth targets in specified regions.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop highly creative and strategic annual marketing plans to achieve sales targets for assigned subject areas, across a range of digital and print products
  • Execute marketing plans, track performance and use SalesForce CRM to monitor effectiveness
  • Develop strategies for growing customer data
  • Articulate product knowledge, market positioning, pricing and opportunities to the sales teams through the delivery of effective presentations
  • Bring market and competitor insight back to the business to influence commissioning, product development and sales opportunities
  • Conduct regular customer visits to develop market and competitor awareness
  • Ensure ongoing engagement with different customers on core social media channels and contribute to the overall strategy and development of social media plans
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer lifecycle, particularly in relation to digital product decision making, adoption, use and renewal.

We are looking for someone with experience of delivering successful marketing campaigns, ideally within academic publishing. The ideal candidate would be someone both creative and data driven in equal measure, able to create high levels of customer engagement resulting in qualified sales leads. You will have experience of marketing management utilising the full marketing mix, superb communication skills and experience of supporting an internationally based sales team. A degree qualification is a must and CIM or other marketing qualification would be desirable. Salesforce and Marketo experience is an advantage.
