Marketing Manager – TBI Communications

Our client, TBI Communications, a go-to strategic consultancy and marketing agency whose clients include world-recognised publishers, government organisations, associations, learned societies and technology solution providers is looking for an experienced, self-motivated Marketing Manager to join their small, specialist team. This is a permanent, full-time role ideal for someone who would enjoy working across multiple projects and directly with senior clients in the academic publishing sector.
You’ll play a key role in developing and delivering strategic marketing and communications plans, managing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality execution of campaigns across digital channels. With exposure to branding, research, strategy and campaign work, this role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a real impact.
Build and maintain positive client relationships while ensuring clear and consistent communication across all TBI processes
Contribute to the development and delivery of tailored marketing and communications plans, supporting campaign implementation that aligns with client objectives
Prepare, review and present reports that clearly demonstrate the outcomes of marketing activities
Develop strategic marketing plans in response to client briefs, grounded in research and aligned with business goals
Design and manage creative and effective marketing campaigns — setting objectives, drafting copy, and collaborating with colleagues to implement through relevant channels such as paid search (e.g. Google Ads), organic and paid social media, and email
Coordinate and manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
Monitor campaign performance, interpret data, and recommend changes where appropriate to support continuous improvement
Represent TBI in client meetings (in person or online), and at relevant national and international events or conferences
Stay informed on developments and best practices in both publishing and marketing, using insights to support client and organisational growth.
Marketing Manager: Skills/experience
Practical experience with core digital marketing tools and platforms, including organic and paid social media, paid search, Google Analytics/GA4, Adobe Analytics, HTML, and email marketing platforms
Previous marketing experience, ideally within or related to the academic publishing sector
Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Analytical thinking and confidence using data to evaluate campaign performance
Organised, with strong planning and project management skills
Proactive approach to learning and professional development.
