National Account Manager – Higher Education Services

One of the world’s largest education services companies is looking for a new National Account Manager to join their Higher Education (HE) Services team to focus on pathway institutions, professional bodies and private HE providers.

Reporting to the Sales Manager for HE, the new National Account Manager will lead the sales activity of a new team, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to set priorities across the account base. The main responsibilities include:

  • Delivering year-on-year revenue growth of key accounts and increasing market share
  • Identifying and engaging with key stakeholders in accounts
  • Developing a well-connected network of senior influencers and supporters in HEIs
  • Developing and maintaining an excellent knowledge of the English Language and HE market
  • Preparing and delivering presentations to senior clients and prospects
  • Leading the preparation of proposals and responses to PQQs, RFPs, and Tenders
  • Developing a good pedagogical and technical knowledge of all products and services
  • Leading the territory team to complete/maintain territory and account plans
  • Running annual strategic planning and business planning process for national team
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate CRM records, pipeline of new and existing business
  • Leading and supporting a high functioning, trusting, collaborative results-driven territory team.

The successful candidate will have significant experience achieving results in high-value sales, business development, and account management with a proven track record in a commercial sector at senior levels, with the ability to handle long sales cycles, tenders and bids. Demonstrable experience creating and implementing strategies and account plans for growth is essential, as is the ability to balance a strong commercial focus with policy and operational requirements. Exceptional communication, influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills are required, and a good understanding of the UK Assessment and HE sector is desirable. This role is a field-based, with regular travel, so a full driving licence is required.
