An academic publisher, with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years, is looking for an Operations Manager, on a 12 month’ FTC, to lead a small Publishing Operations team to support their Open Access operations globally.

Reporting to the Associate VP of Open Research, the main responsibilities for the OA Operations Manager will include:

Lead a small Publishing Operations team to support the Open Access operations globally
Support the Product Manager team responsible for the online Open Access Portal on new release rollouts
Regularly review OA processes to drive efficiencies managing a high volume of OA publishing activities
Work with global teams in customers services, circulation, finance, sales, production, editorial and IT
Work with authors, consortia, libraries and funders to resolve queries escalated by OA Customer Service team
Be responsible for a schedule of regular reporting and analysis of transformative publishing agreements
Regularly monitor and seek to improve overall service levels in the operations support of 180+ pure Gold Open Access journals.

Successful candidates will ideally have experience in Open Access publishing, some responsibility for leading team performance, people management, strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent time management skills. High level of attention to detail, strong Excel and numeracy skills, excellent communication skills, strong relationship management skills and good commercial awareness are required.
