Product Manager – Online Courses (Product Innovation)

An academic publisher, with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years, is looking for a Product Manager – Online Courses, to lead the definition and delivery of enhancement projects for online courses aimed at helping social scientists and researchers develop new and emerging skills.

The Product Manager will help deliver the next stage of this emerging edTech product, working towards business goals and KPIs to deliver the courses suite for social scientists, collaborating closely with talented colleagues as part of an evolving online team and being a product expert within the Innovation team and wider business.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring Institutional customers receive excellent on-boarding support by working with the Sales team
  • Trouble-shooting course technical queries from customers, supporting universities with their LMS
  • Managing the definition and delivery of assigned product enhancement projects
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure business goals are met and products meets the needs of users/customers
  • Recommending key roadmap priorities, in consultation with manager and stakeholders
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the products/customers/users and using this to focus enhancement projects
  • Regular interaction with product customers & users to ensure full understanding of their wants and needs
  • Collaborating with key team members working on the day-to-day running of the product(s)
  • Establishing strong relationships with product stakeholders, internally promoting the product
  • Actively engaging in emerging educational technologies and product management techniques.

Successful candidates will have significant experience in Product Management and, ideally, an awareness of the academic publishing and/or Educational Technology industries. Experience working with Learning Management Systems and/or online courses is required, as is a strong attention to detail, exceptional communication and time-management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the knowledge of product management best practices.
