Our Client, one of the world’s largest academic publishers, is looking for a Publisher – ELT, to identify opportunities that contribute to the growth of their ELT business and to lead and manage a publishing programme of customer-focused integrated solutions.

Reporting to the Product Director, the main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing business cases aligned to publishing plans, Identifying opportunities in key markets/regions
  • Overseeing project planning (concept to delivery), ensuring specifications achieve competitive advantage
  • Collaborating with publishers to identify synergies across multiple markets, utilising existing assets
  • Identifying and commissioning writers to develop content to realise the publishing plan
  • Working collaboratively to develop joined-up market research plans aligned to strategic objectives
  • Ensuring project schedules are set and maintained, and best-practice management principles applied
  • Planning and managing budgets and people resources to deliver the publishing plan
  • ELT team management, including recruiting, developing, training and appraisals.

Successful candidates will have significant ELT publishing experience at a senior level, ideally including digital knowledge, together with solid commissioning and successful publishing programme experience. Experience leading the development and implementation of change initiatives and financial planning, resourcing and budgets is essential, as is experience of leading successful cross-functional teams. EFL teaching experience, a recognised ELT qualification and an understanding of structured content are preferred.
