Our client, a leading independent academic and professional publisher is looking for a Sales Training Specialist to develop, maintain and carry out internal training to the Library Sales team. This will involve providing product knowledge and equipping the team with the necessary skills to meet the sales goals. The role reports to the Customer Success and Training Manager.

Sales Training Specialist: Key responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute a core competency based internal training plan for all new Library products
  • Identify learning needs for the Sales team; deliver engaging and tailored training to each member of the team; monitor and evaluate ongoing team member expertise and offer refresher training periodically
  • Provide regular reporting on outcomes and evaluation of team training
  • Work with Product Development, Sales, and Marketing teams to establish strategic training priorities and work with Library trainer(s) to implement those priorities
  • Stay informed on all product developments and communicate or offer update training to team as appropriate
  • Use knowledge of the product, as well as feedback from Sales training (internal and external) to feed-back development opportunities, or issues to the Customer Success and Training Manager to enhance product offerings
  • Provide market feedback and insights to appropriate internal teams

Sales Training Specialist: Skills/experience

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in developing and delivering effective training
  • Experience in library, publishing, or sales environment
  • Proven excellence in delivering 1-2-1 or small group training, to a high standard
  • Strong communication skills, and confidence in presenting
  • Proficient in PC environment and must possess working knowledge of Microsoft office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in working with instructional technology
  • Able to work on tasks and projects alone as well as within a team environment
  • Demonstrates strong organisational and prioritisation skills to manage a busy multitasking workload.
