Our client, Healthcademia, an international Higher Education Group built around a network of trusted healthcare institutions across Europe and Latin America is seeking a new Senior Applied AI/ML Engineer to build and progressively internalize their applied AI engineering capability.

The Senior Applied AI/ML Engineer will work directly with the AI Product Lead and external delivery partners to turn priority education and business use cases into reliable, secure and measurable AI products. The role will personally build prototypes and critical AI components, challenge partner designs and code, and ensure that solutions can ultimately be operated and scaled.
Senior Applied AI/ML Engineer: Key responsibilities
- Prototype and validate AI product concepts
- Build critical AI product components
- Own AI quality and evaluation
- Operationalize AI solutions
- Integrate AI into the Healthcademia environment
- Provide technical assurance over partner delivery
- Secure knowledge and intellectual property transfer
- Support responsible AI implementation.
Senior Applied AI/ML Engineer: Skills/experience
- Significant professional experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, applied AI
- Direct experience building AI or generative AI applications that have been deployed into production
- Experience using AI frameworks and services, such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Hugging Face or equivalent technologies
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure or AWS
- Experience collaborating with internal product managers and external engineering teams or technology providers is strongly preferred
- Strong product judgement and ability to evaluate commercial AI tools and models
- Experience in EdTech, healthcare, regulated digital products or environments handling sensitive personal data is desirable
- Interest in education, assessment, learning effectiveness and responsible use of AI in academic environments is desired
- Professional level English language proficiency is a must.
