A world leading not-for-profit organisation and global membership society is recruiting a Senior Programme Manager, International Engagement to lead on key international engagement programmes and partnerships.

Reporting to the Manager – External Relations this role will focus on building and strengthening international relationships to contribute to an inclusive community that work together to tackle global challenges. This is a great opportunity to join the External Relations team who play a vital role in positioning our client as a global leader in their sector. Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for evaluating and monitoring external relations international programmes, including budget management
- Lead the strategic development and delivery of specific programmes and partnerships
- Ensure the organisation is engaged with the activities, programmes and initiatives of scientific societies
- Understand current and emerging trends in sciences for development and use this perspective to inform future programmes
- Implement the Commonwealth Science strategy and develop programmes of activities in collaboration with other members of the team
- Oversee support for senior colleagues representing the organisation on external boards, committees in the UK and internationally
- Engage with members of the scientific community, in academia and industry to deliver maximum impact for international engagement work
- Identify new opportunities and lead joint international initiatives and partnerships with sister societies and other organisations.
The successful candidate will have a real passion for science and innovation with a degree in science, or a science-related area and a PhD or equivalent is desirable. Experience of managing a team and proven success of building relationships and networks with examples of running multi-stakeholder projects is preferred.
