Reporting to the Head of Transformation, the Senior Software Engineer will have the following key responsibilities;
- Assess the technical feasibility of business ideas (technical complexity, development time, likelihood of success, etc.) and advise on appropriate approaches and solutions
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to facilitate evaluation of new services and products
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather feedback and evaluate the effectiveness of prototypes and proof-of-concepts
- Communicate findings and results internally and at industry conferences
• Manage the backlog of requests and help prioritise work - Build good technical relationships with the Product Innovation Department, core technology teams and vendors
- When needed, manage, and help source additional external technical help for projects.
The successful candidate will have significant experience developing software products and services, including frontend and backend development in a variety of languages and web technologies. You will be experienced with opensource software. You will need to be comfortable advising on best practise, working with minimal instruction/supervision and enjoy the freedom to make decisions.
