Vice President of Operations & Finance – Research Information Services
Competitive six figure salary + bonus + benefits including car allowance and profit share
Our client, a world-leading library service provider is looking for a strategic leader to fill the position of Vice President of Operations & Finance for the UK and Nordic Markets. To lead two Business Units and local legal entities, this role is central to maximising profitability whilst ensuring operational excellence.
Act as the legal representative in the territories assigned. Includes close coordination with the SVP of Operations & Finance, CFO, VP of Legal Services, VP of Accounting and VP of Finance
Price subscription lists to maximize sales wins while also producing a profit margin
Ensure quality and timeliness of all customer supporting tasks including but not limited to Order Processing, Customer Service and Accounts Receivable collection
Coordinate and cooperate with Information Services Sales team to support their efforts to expand profitable sales
Manage all administrative responsibilities associated with the local regional office including local statutory accounting and tax compliance as well as HR. Responsible for overall regulatory compliance in the region
Continuously upgrade and/or streamline office procedures to contribute to overall general business improvements
Focus attention to annually reducing cost per-unit or per-dollar of sales to improve competitiveness and profit results
Stay apprised of current general market trends and competitive activity. This includes understanding the overall markets for which the regional office has responsibility and communicating as needed to Sales
Submit ideas regarding potential new product or service development and improvements
Provide assistance to Publisher Sales and Publisher Services as necessary to manage relationships with publishers local to the regional office
Direct, manage and lead 4 direct reports.
Vice President Skills/experience
Proven experience leading finance and operations teams with particularly strong financial or accounting background
Demonstrated ability to be a team player and collaborate effectively within a larger organizational structure
Strategic mindset with a focus on continuously improving competitiveness and profit results
Experience in pricing strategies to maximize sales wins and profitability
Ability to lead and manage a team of direct reports, providing guidance and support
Possess a high level of attention to detail without losing sight of big picture
Natural leader with confident people management experience with excellent communication skills
Willing to travel as needed to HQ in the US as well as to regional European meetings, to key conferences and to visit key customers as needed. Travel estimated to be a maximum of 10-15%.
