Account Manager – Higher Education Services (South East)

One of the world’s largest education services companies is looking for an Account Manager, South-East England, to join their HE Services team to drive the transition from product to services and partnership sales.

Reporting to the Head of Account Management, this role is responsible for building a strong pipeline of institutional, multi-product, multi-year deals and partnerships, running competitive bids and tenders and leading territory teams to drive revenue growth and activity across defined accounts. The main responsibilities include:

  • Delivering year-on-year revenue growth of key accounts
  • Identifying and engaging with key stakeholders in accounts
  • Positioning the Company as the partner of choice for customer-focused products & services
  • Developing a well-connected network of senior influencers and supporters in HEIs
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior clients and prospects
  • Leading the preparation of proposals and responses to PQQs, RFPs, and Tenders
  • Developing a good pedagogical and technical knowledge of all products and services
  • Leading the territory team to complete/maintain territory and account plans
  • Running annual strategic planning and business planning process for territory team
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate CRM records and pipeline of new and existing business
  • Leading and support a high functioning, trusting, collaborative results driven territory team.

The successful candidate will have significant experience achieving results in high-value sales, business development and account management with a proven track record in a commercial sector at senior levels, with the ability to appreciate and handle long sales cycles. Demonstrable experience creating and implementing strategies and account plans for growth are essential, as is the ability to balance a strong commercial focus with policy and operational requirements. Exceptional communication, influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills are required, and a good understanding of the UK HE sector and government policy for HE is desirable. This role is a field-based, with regular travel, so a full driving licence is required.
