Associate Product Manager, New Products – Scholarly Publishing

Our client, a leading independent academic and professional publisher is looking for an Associate Product Manager to join their New Products team. You will be working flexibly to find and develop new innovative products that support researchers and enable student learning. The team work across departments to grow recently launched products and explore new product opportunities, through discovery and fast experimentation. This is an exciting role in an innovative team.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand your product area and the vision for your product, know competitors and their solutions and engage with users and analytics to identify gaps
  • Manage the definition and delivery of assigned product enhancements, from user research, user story and written requirements through to prioritisation, UAT and impact analysis post release
  • Execute product enhancements by effectively collaborating with your product team including UX / UI designers, developers, project managers and other stakeholders as relevant
  • Manage the delivery of ongoing projects, that support the product management of your team’s product(s), effectively leading small project teams when necessary
  • Analyse and report on product usage data
  • Collaborate with key team members from across the business working on the day to day running of the product(s) to improve efficiencies and solve product-related issues
  • Interact regularly with product customers & users to ensure full understanding of their wants, needs and perspectives
  • Demonstrate a deep curiosity in all aspects of the product(s) and the market
  • Demonstrate a Lean mindset, continuously looking for ways to improve the way you work to deliver more value to customers and drive efficiencies

To be considered for this role candidates will have experience working in Product Management and an awareness of the Academic Publishing Industry. You will need good analytical and problem solving skills, with a strong working knowledge of the full suite and administration of Office 365 solutions and Google analytics, or equivalent tools. This is a busy and exciting role that would suit someone with a keen eye for detail, strong time management and prioritisation abilities, and good relationship management skills.
