ELT Managing Editor – Adult

Our client, a not-for-profit international publisher, is looking for an ELT Managing Editor – Adult, for a 12 month fixed term contract, responsible for planning, commissioning, project-managing and content developing a range of blended learning projects through all stages of product development and iteration. This role is based in Athens, Greece.

Reporting to the Learning Content Development Manager, the main responsibilities of the Managing Editor – Adult will include:

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to scope/define/prioritise projects
  • Leading projects for the development, maintenance and iteration of Adult blended learning materials
  • Ensuring learning materials adhere to brand guidelines, project guidelines and stakeholder requirements
  • Ensuring adequate resources are in place to support content development
  • Planning, monitoring and reporting on schedules, costs, resources and risks
  • Identifying suppliers, tenders and procuring goods and services
  • Leading on, or contributing to, market research, product testing and piloting so products meet business requirements
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of developments and issues within the Adult ELT market
  • Managing external suppliers and in-house content developers and project managers.

The successful candidate for the role of ELT Managing Editor – Adult will have experience of, and a qualification in, teaching English as a foreign or second language, and a professional fluency in English. Experience working as a content or production editor within educational publishing with a demonstrated track record of effective product development is essential. Project management development of print and digital products through the full publishing process is required, as is experience procuring goods and services and negotiating contracts. Applicants must be eligible to work in Greece.
