An academic publisher, with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years, is looking for a Head of Books Marketing to lead effective marketing strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets whilst meeting the evolving needs and changing business models of the HE academic and student markets.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the main responsibilities include:
- Designing and setting objectives/strategy to deliver revenue and profitability for the publishing program
- Engaging with industry developments and market changes to inform and develop strategy
- Leading on projects, strategies and initiatives that contribute to marketing department objectives
- Overseeing team resourcing as well as development and performance of all marketing staff
- Leading all aspects of marketing across multiple channels, focusing on sales/lead generation
- Overseeing pricing strategy to optimise revenue and profit while maintaining reputation
- Developing/managing marketing expense budgets, ensuring the cost-effectiveness of the department
- Working closely with the Head of Sales to agree shared goals and objectives
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and exploit synergies across the business.
Successful candidates will have solid marketing management experience, ideally digital, and an ability to influence and gain buy-in for proposals from stakeholders at management level. Direct marketing, HE and publishing industry experience is preferred and proven experience leading, developing and managing a team is essential. Project management, budgeting, and data analysis skills are required.
