Our client, a leading global STM research publisher is looking for a Head of Publishing to join their Researcher Training Solutions team for a FTC/Maternity Cover. The Training Solutions Team is a newly created division with a mission to create solutions for research audiences across the world in order to enhance careers, advance learning and create an environment where researchers can achieve recognition for their success and their achievements.

This is a key role taking responsibility for the effective and efficient development of the content of premium quality elearning training products, and developing key aspects of the strategy and future direction of these elearning products. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team at the heart of STM elearning.

Key responsibilities

Provide leadership and management to the Publishing Team
Work closely with the Management Team on strategic planning for the development of the paid-for researcher elearning portfolio
Identify key areas of strength and weakness and maintain an overview of competitor activities
Own the Quality Assurance for the content output of the Researcher Training Solutions products
Set, monitor and report on key performance indicators
Support the development and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion measures for the training portfolio
Oversee and provide top-level guidance on course production
Input into course development budgets and monitoring
Take the lead in devising, proposing, piloting and implementing new training solutions and improvements to existing solutions
Act as a trusted interface between the Publishing Team and wider sales, marketing and intelligence teams
Work with the Head of Researcher Training Solutions to ensure the Publishing Team is appropriately structured and has a shared sense of community and purpose
Train new and existing team members to ensure quality and continuity of the product and support their professional development.

To be considered for this role candidates will have experience of leading and managing a publishing or elearning content development team. An understanding of scientific research processes and the needs of researchers is required. You will hold outstanding interpersonal, team management and stakeholder management skills. This is a fast paced and exciting role and will suit someone who is able to problem solve and make clear decisions in a fast moving, deadline driven environment.
