Our client, one of the world’s leading information services providers, is looking to recruit a Library Services Engineer, to join their Global Software Services team and their Library Service Engineers team. These teams are committed to increasing sales and adoption of technology-enabled products internationally through Field Sales Engineering.
The Library Service Engineer must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer and product base as well as working in the sales process. They must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails and RFIs/RFPs. They are organized and analytical and able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive technical approaches. This role is field-based in Sweden and requires 25% – 35% travel.
Acting as the Regional/Market authoritative expert on technology aspects of SaaS platform functionality, competition, and trends
Conducting pre-sales presentations and delivering written responses to Requests for Information
Creating and managing demos, prototypes, and documentation
Establishing positive relationships with Sales & Customer Support teams and customer staff
Supporting the evaluation/trial process and post-sales support/nurturing
Troubleshooting and resolving customer specific advanced technical issues
Contributing to the app development process with varying involvement in customer requirements definition, coding, testing, documentation, and management.
Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in either IT Consulting, System Librarianship, Product Management, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of experience and excellence in presenting, as well as written communication describing details for technology, Internet, or software application products to internal and external audiences and various levels of management
Ability to travel approximately 25-35% of time to regional and international locations
Practical experience with HTML, JavaScript, PHP, Python, or Node.js
A desire to make an impact, good judgement, open communication, collaboration and a positive attitude
Ability to apply critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills to address root causes
Experience with integrated library systems / library service platforms, and/or other library focused technology solutions is desirable
Experience programming with APIs, use of a full web application stack (e.g. LAMP), large data file analysis (e.g. MARC, XML), and Agile methodologies would be advantageous.
