Featured Licensing Manager – Education Publishing

Our client, one of the world’s largest education services companies, is looking for a Licensing Manager to facilitate the licensing of content to global territories securing maximum value for the content. The role will support the licensing departments activities including drawing up contractual paperwork, sending out review materials, responding to customer queries and attending book fairs when appropriate.

Key responsibilities

  • Meeting and exceeding annual targets and monitoring progress regularly
  • Checking rights availability, granting options and sending review materials to customers
  • Maintaining and updating the Rights licensing database
  • Maintaining product knowledge and market awareness to evaluate potential for licensing and identify suitable partners for promotion and sales
  • Ensure prospective customers are fully informed of content for licensing and actively seek licensing income
  • Responsible for processing requests to use company owned copyright materials to determine acceptability of use and appropriate fee
  • Responsible for maintaining own awareness of copyright legislation to ensure contracts meet current legal requirements
  • Align licensing efforts with English language sales and distribution programme.

Suitable candidates will have previous rights sales experience and experience of licensing content in either a K12 or Higher Education environment. Highly motivated individuals who are results orientated and capable of working on their own initiative would be ideal candidates for this role. Previous administrative experience, good interpersonal and organisational skills as well as a keen eye for detail are key. You will need to be able to manage a busy and varied workload and have a proactive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude. International experience and a second language would be a definite advantage. It is desirable for the individual to have knowledge of copyright law and working knowledge of SalesForce but not essential.
