Exclusive Senior Acquisition Editor – Business & Management

An academic publisher with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years is looking to recruit a Senior Acquisitions Editor to manage their Business and Management digital academic and library reference product list.

Acting as the strategic Editorial lead for the product list, you will lead them from inception and approval, all the way to launch and beyond. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Acquire and develop digital products and commission select Reference titles
  • Prepare new product development proposals for new digital resources
  • Commission and manage all original content for designated products
  • Manage the budget and costs for designated products, including profit & loss statements
  • Identify, interview and commission Editorial Advisory Board partners
  • Work effectively with other editors to maximise opportunities for leveraging content
  • Work closely with Licensing Editor to identify potential licensing
  • Remain aware of the evolving pedagogical needs within the Business subject areas
  • Develop relationships among discipline-focused editors, leading academics and attend conferences each year as required, including Sales conferences
  • Follow industry news, blogs and reports on Business & Management in higher education.

The ideal candidate will have significant commissioning experience within scholarly publishing. It would desirable to bring Business related subject expertise but not essential. You will need to the ability to plan, organise, research, analyse and establish priorities to achieve results along with Strong budgeting and cost management skills.
