Senior Marketing Manager role available at an esteemed academic publisher to drive customer-centric strategies that drive article submissions and elevate brand presence and boost revenue across the open access portfolio. The role will involve strategic planning, meticulous analysis of data and innovative campaign execution while fostering a culture of collaboration and customer focus.

Senior Marketing Manager: Key responsibilities

  • Manage the marketing and strategic development of the open access journal portfolio at discipline and product level, including devising and implementing strategic marketing plans that are based on the priority level of the journal
  • Play an active role in fostering a customer-focused culture within the team and use a variety of marketing channels (such as email, social media, print and digital advertising, and academic conferences) to reach our customers at multiple touchpoints during the customer experience
  • Devise new digital marketing strategies to drive manuscript submissions and usage to support our department goals
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders from across the business to maintain cross department relationships and facilitate effective projects and processes
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets for assigned products
  • Collaborate with the Marketing communications team on the development of journeys
  • Present quarterly marketing plans and analysis to stakeholders, seek to obtain buy-in and support from Editorial colleagues in the execution of campaigns
  • Devise competitor and market analysis to support marketing strategies
  • If applicable to the role, act as the marketing manager lead for cross-functional project.

Senior Marketing Manager: Skills/experience

  • Experienced in creating and delivering proven revenue generating campaigns in a B2C setting
  • Knowledgeable in academic publishing, preferably open access journal publishing
  • A strategic thinker with experience of analysing data to inform marketing activities
  • An effective communicator, both verbal and written, including delivering presentations and writing compelling copy
  • Experienced in project management, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team within tight time pressures
  • Solutions-focused when faced with challenges, with the ability to think critically.

A £47, 000 – £49, 000 salary, bonus, and benefits package is offered.
