Systems & Workflow Analyst – Publishing Technology – 12 Month FTC

An academic publisher with one of the most successful track records for growth over the last ten years is looking to recruit a Systems & Workflow Analyst on a 12 month FTC to analyse existing systems and workflows and develop strategies to improve efficiency and increase their digital content publishing capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Production Teams to deliver technical process improvements through changing publishing practices. The key responsibilities of the role include;

  • Conduct workflow and system analysis to identify pain-points and propose effective solutions
  • Work with key business partners, analysts and developers to produce new workflow requirements
  • Lead the team task management system and run deployment of new projects and features
  • Collaborate with global teams on new product workflow deployment
  • Work with external teams to implement new processes in support of strategic goals
  • Maintain oversight of global digital publishing workflows to ensure optimal output
  • Provide global higher-level troubleshooting support to global departments
  • Liaise with external vendors to ensure content compliance to specifications and superior quality
  • Provide effective training support where necessary to reduce queries
  • Liaising with key partner societies, journal editors and authors.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the Academic Publishing Industry as well as understanding business requirements and experience working with developers to provide solutions. An aptitude for trouble shooting, problem solving, multi-tasking and excellent attention to detail is a must. You will have experience of working with XML editing software and embrace Lean Continuous Improvement methodologies as well as possess an ability to organise and direct projects within an Agile framework.
