Our client, a leading independent publisher of medical, biotechnological and scientific research is looking to recruit a Senior Editor to join their dynamic and forward-thinking digital team.

Reporting to the Publisher, the Senior Editor will be responsible for all editorial output on one of their leading digital platforms. Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting in the development of the digital editorial strategy alongside the Publisher
Implementing and overseeing the digital editorial strategy, personally or via line management
Managing all editorial output across the platform, publishing high impact content
Commissioning content, managing experts, moderating activity and engaging the e-community
Maintaining value propositions to customers, directly or via line management
Working with the Marketing team on audience development
Preparing engaging content for email marketing
Proactively identify new business opportunities and monitoring growth of the e-community
Liaising closely with the Publisher and Marketing to support on related activities
Devising and delivering a social media strategy. Creating engaging content, monitoring shares, interactions and growth
Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, both internal and external
Managing a team of editorial staff, including line management, HR support and recruitment.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level with experience of working on a similar digital platform, in an editorial position. Attention to detail is key along with strong organisational skills. Previous experience of line management, people development and training would be desirable.
