Our client, a not-for-profit, public interest organisation which serves the public interest is recruiting for an XML Publishing Specialist to join their team. As part of the Production Team, the XML Publishing Specialist will be responsible for content management and publishing as well as contributing to the continuous improvement of content and processes and developing the digital product development.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain content in XML and all other media formats
  • Undertake initial assessment of draft content to determine production requirements
  • Plan for and lead the publication of new content
  • Set and supervise content management workflows
  • Together with Head of Publishing lead content management system troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Coach and train team members in content management, standards consolidation and publishing best-practice
  • Continuously improve operational efficiency and enhance customer value of existing products
  • Play a key role in the development of new digital and print products
  • Plan for and oversee the implementation of any new technology and systems connected to or interacting with content management operations
  • Deputize for Head of Publishing as required.

Suitable candidates will have extensive experience of editing content in XML and of using Content Management Systems. Demonstrable experience of managing multiple projects and delivering them on time ensuring high quality and high level of attention to detail is paramount. Strong communication skills required to work effectively with multiple stakeholders. Desirable to have experience of working on accountancy, tax or legal content and working with third party suppliers but not essential. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, Word and Oxygen would be an advantage.
